Pat has spent 13 years behind the microphone and behind the scenes, shaping sports coverage that connects fans to the teams and stories they care about most.
As a play-by-play broadcaster, Pat brings energy, accuracy, and preparation to every broadcast. His ability to translate fast-paced action into clear, engaging storytelling has made him a trusted voice across a wide range of sporting events. His work has earned industry recognition, including being named 2024 Kansas Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sports Media Association, an honor that reflects both his broadcast excellence and his impact on the local sports community. Pat Strathman has provided play-by-play for a variety of sports from the high school level to NCAA Division I. Most recently, Pat broadcasts games for Wichita State University women's basketball. Pat also calls games on ESPN+ for the Wichita State Shockers in addition to his roles with Friends University and Kansas State University. Currently, Pat is the station manager at ESPN Wichita 92.3. Pat leads day-to-day operations, oversees programming, develops advertising and sponsorship strategies to increase local market revenue and brand visibility, and builds and maintains strong relationships with advertisers and community partners. Recently, Pat was named the 19th-best program director for mid-market sports stations by Barrett Media for 2025. He hosts "The Pulse with Pat Strathman" from 2-4 pm every weekday. During the afternoon drive, he engages listeners by offering opinions and analysis on local teams and brings on guests like coaches, players, and sports media members. |
